The Klondike is a region of the Yukon Territory east of the Alaska border, famous because of the Klondike Gold Rush which happened 1897-98. Gold is still mined in the region today. Tourism also forms the base of the local economy.

The heart of the gold fields is the region's largest town Dawson City, with a population of 2,022 living at mile 0 of the Alaska Highway where the Yukon and Klondike Rivers meet. Visitors can pan for gold in the nearby gold fields. Dawson City offers historic buildings and people dressed as Klondike Gold Rush characters. The Dawson City Museum in the 1901 neo-classical Old Territorial Administration Building tells the history of the area, dating back through the Gold Rush times to earlier times. Nearby, Dredge No. 4 National Historic Site is the largest wooden hull, bucket-line dredge in North America. The S.S. Klondike National Historic Site of Canada is a sternwheeler riverboat built in 1937 that has been restored to its 1937-40 glory. Nearby is the S.S. Keno, a riverboat that is also a National Historic Site of Canada. Dawson City also offers nightlife entertainment, including gambling at Canada's first legalized gambling hall, Diamond Tooth Gerties Casino.

This non-smoking Dawson City hotel has a restaurant and a lobby with a TV. There is a common area with a kitchen for guests to use.
