As you drive north along the Klondike Highway to Dawson City, be sure to check out the Silver Trail, a heavily mined area of silver deposits that tells the story of the gold rush like none other.

Visit Mayo, once a bustling silver mining center, still preserved with original buildings. The Binet House Interpretive Centre contains historic photos, displays on geology, minerals, flora and fauna of the area, and silver samples.

It is astounding to think that the village of Keno was once a booming mining town. Now, with a population of 25, the tourists always outnumber the residents, and the residents are always happy to tell their stories. The Keno City Mining Museum is worth a visit, located in a 1920s saloon. Visitors to the Silver Trail area enjoy fishing, hiking, sight-seeing, and even gold-panning!
