Situated along the Alaska Highway between Watson Lake and Whitehorse, Teslin is a true northern village with northern charm. Its residents are friendly and welcoming, and the village's tourism industry is booming.

Visit the George Johnston Museum, which contains displays of native culture, as well as several artifacts of the Yukon Frontier. Visitors are often interested in purchasing goods produced by local Natives (snowshoes, canoes, and crafts), and participating in water sports and fishing along the Teslin River. The nearby town of Carcross is situated on the northern shore of Lake Bennett. Visit the Matthew Watson General Store, the oldest store in the Yukon, for a real taste of the old world.

Carcross is home to the world's smallest desert, the Carcross Dunes, where motorcycling has become increasingly popular, as well as visiting the beaches created along the banks of nearby rivers and lakes. The Carcross Dunes can be seen from the South Klondike Highway.
